The Cornell Seven

Before acknowledging the horrific acts of these seven Cornell students, I find myself irritated of the name. The monicker follows an example set in which we insinuate the party involved is wrongly convincted: the Central Park 5, Birmingham 6, etc. The Cornell 7 should not be on to follow that naming convention. They're not seven: they're a group full of terrifying r*pists.

As a high school senior applying to colleges myself, the thought of a young student working so incredibly hard to get into a school that regularly makes headlines for their advancements in science and technology, but then having to drop out due to such severe trauma is heart-breaking. Jane Doe is an inspiration and a fighter, and I hope she is safe and happy now wherever she is.
